Piano duels, when two famous pianists would meet on stage, were popular in 18th and 19th centuries. Duels between Mozart and Clementi, Beethoven and Wolf, Liszt and Thalberg have forever gone down in history. In this duel, two great pianists, beloved by their audiences, will meet: Johan Randvere from Estonia and Julija Sadaunykaitė from Lithuania. But the only winner will be the listener!
For her performance, pianist Julija Sadaunykaitė chose three composers from the 20th century, a period with many tumultuous events and rich in its musical variety. Johan Randvere chose some of the greatest Estonian composers, strictly from his homeland. And so, different generations of modern music will delightfully intertwine in the programme.
