In the program JOTA, the cello and the guitar come together to explore the multiple facets of the repertoire arising from the union between Latin American popular music and European cultured music: it’s a journey from Spanish folklore to South American popular tango through the works of some of the most representative composers of the 20th century, such as De Falla, Piazzolla and Albeniz. There is also a tribute to a young Italian composer, Simone Cardini, who arranged several pieces in this programme: his piece ASTOR, evoking the language and Piazzolla’s settings, contextualizing them in an experimental type of writing but also linking with the great composers of the musical avant-garde, will be performed.
Cellist Erica Piccotti is a winner of numerous competitions. She was awarded the title of Young Concert Artist of the Year by the ICMA in 2020.
Classical guitarist Gian Marco Ciampa won more than 40 international awards and has performed and held masterclasses in four continents.
