On Saint John’s Eve, come to a concert during which three Lithuanian and Japanese performers, who do not fit into the genre boundaries, will colour the summer solstice with sounds of music.
The first part will feature Chie Narita, a cellist from distant Japan, who sings and writes her own songs, performs in bands as well as on her own, collaborates with many artists, and has released three albums. In the second part, you will meet pianist, singer and composer Ieva Marija Baranauskaitė and violinist, singer and actress Lyja Maknavičiūtė, who have prepared a musical improvisation “Nature with its powers”. The improvisation will feature motifs from folk songs and will be about being here and now. Baranauskaitė’s work combines jazz and academic music, folklore from different nations, theatre, literature, cinema, psychology, philosophy and much more. Maknavičiūtė won the first prize in the young playwrights’ competition Starting Point in 2020 with her play Jausmų Krautuvėlė.
