Welcome summer with music! On 7 June, two renowned Lithuanian performers, the remarkable pianist Viktoras Paukštelis and the world-famous drummer and jazz virtuoso Vladimir Tarasov, will return to the Paliesius manor. They will present a program where Baroque music meets contemporary improvisation. The concert will also feature the newly acquired antique instruments of the manor – the organ and the harpsichord.
Both artists, renowned for their talents in the visual arts and constant pursuit of an enriching connection between disciplines, will now search for a common denominator between two styles of music centuries apart. Paukštelis will play the baroque “fabric”, while Tarasov will weave improvisational elements into it.
Viktoras Paukštelis is often described as an artist of a unique nature, as he brings to the public a fusion of his two talents: painting and piano playing. Vladimir Tarasov is a world-renowned drummer, inventive percussionist, composer, and visual artist. He is proficient in many styles of music, but his main interests lie in free jazz and improvisational music.
