On 28 March, come out to hear the talented pianist Morta Grigaliūnaitė and Finnish composers!

The focus of this program is the piano works of Einojuhani Rautavaara, one of the most important Finnish composers of the last century. Often referred to as a mystic, Rautavaara drew inspiration from literature, religion, philosophy, and his own dreams and childhood memories, but also possessed a keen understanding of the inner world of human beings and its nuances. The program will be complemented by music of Rautavaara’s teachers and contemporaries, providing listeners with the opportunity to look deeper at the development of Finnish music in the 20th century.

Pianist Morta Grigaliūnaitė’s interpretations are characterized by captivating musical contrasts, a combination of mystery and temperament, melancholy and playfulness. Her activities range from the Berlin Philharmonic to the Gulbenkian Concert Hall in Lisbon, from Wigmore Hall in London to the Lithuanian National Philharmonic.
