On 14 February, come on a sensitive journey of music and poetry with a special concert of Lithuanian diaspora music.
The title “In Two Voices” reflects the idea of the concert: the voice will be heard in two ways, both as words sung by a human being and as a musical language coming to life through the piano. Two different voices will merge into one sensitive, seamless experience.
You will hear the tenor Antanas Zakarauskas, one of the most interesting contemporary Lithuanian soloists, who can subtly combine emotional impact, a deep sense of the texts, and a refined musical expression. He will be accompanied by pianist Linas Dužinskas, whose sensitive piano sound will become an integral part of this musical story.
The concert will focus on the works of Bruno Markaitis. His vocal cycle “Sonatas and Fugues”, based on the poems of Kazys Bradūnas, will be at the heart of the concert narrative. The concert will also include music by Čiurlionis, Šenderovas and the song “Mikit, lankos”.
