Bach is known as the father of classical music who inspired numerous composers. His music is carried on the space probe Voyager 1, as one of the greatest of humanity’s cultural achievements. And yet, Lithuania has no tradition of interpreting his music at a high level. But we aim to start such a tradition with the concert Impulse – Bach on 17 December at Paliesius manor!
The concert was named this way because of the harmony, eternal pulse and movement felt in Bach’s music. His music swept through times like a great wave from the Baroque to the present day, becoming a starting point, an impulse for other creators.
The project is organised by pianist Onutė Gražinytė, which will perform with other instrumentalists of the Impulse Bach Ensemble, along with the chamber choir Aidija, soloists Lina Dambrauskaitė, Ilja Aksionov, William King and conductor Romualdas Gražinis.
