This is an exceptional tandem, combining two different, but perfectly compatible musical instruments. The sound of the violin and the accordion, often considered to be an unexpected combination, takes on a special expressiveness and harmonious balance in this duo. Talented and innovative musicians – violinist Dalia Simaška and accordionist Laimonas Salijus – are among the brightest performers of the young generation in Lithuania, laureates of international and national competitions, performing both in Lithuania and abroad. Their music covers a wide range of genres, and they present it with extraordinary sensitivity and creativity.
The remarkably varied concert programme features works by both contemporary composers, such as Mikołaj Majkusiak, Gediminas Gelgotas and Ole Edvard Antonsen, and classical masters, such as César Franck and Astor Piazzolla.
